Reflections on NaNoWriMo day 4

So when I wrote the post yesterday I had no idea. I had no idea that the Athens Area WriMos Facebook page would pull me into word sprints. I also didn’t know that anything with the word sprint in it could be fun. And helpful!
For those who have never word sprinted, a word sprint is when two or more writers decide that at a certain time they will begin writing as fast as they can. After a set period of time (say, 15 minutes) they stop and compare word counts. We did this on a comment thread on the FB page.
It was amazing! In two 15 minute sprints I wrote over 1,200 words, pulling my word count for the day up to 3,000 and my total word count above 8,000! So. Much. Fun. Do it. Whether you’re a WriMo or not.
